    Here we go...

So I finally have a buyer for my car. They are to show up in just a few hours. We made an agreement of $2700 (yay!). But of course the guy couldnt drive it like I can because Im used to the bad master cyl. So I tell him Ill put a new one in it for him (thats when the agreement happened :D). So on my way to my friends garage she starts to overheat (240*). Shuts off twice. Find a store with a hose to add some water, assuming it was just low from sitting so long. Took a little bit of water because so much poured out when I opened the cap. So after this it stayed about 170* for the next 13 miles to the garage.

From this point I thought nothing of it anymore and went ahead with the master cyl swap (that was fun). As soon I we crank it up (and declared victory) my roomy points out the white smoke coming out the tail pipes. We kill it and checked the oil cap. Sure enough theres a bit of milky residue. Then the oil dip stick, MILK SHAKE!

Drained the oil and it was bad! Very bad. Water didnt fare so well either.

So I read some threads and decided to start with the TB:

Sorry for the long post but I wanted to give you guys the full scope. And sorry for the quality of the pics, they were taken with this netbooks webcam LOL.

My guess (and what Im hoping for) is that the TB has been leaking over time and today it finally mixed really well since this has been the first time Ive driven it any meaningful distance in at least two months.

So my question is; do I need to tear it down further or could this gasket be my fix?

Standing in the garage waiting for replies...

Looks like water was getting into the intake. Only way to be sure that was the only problem is to fix that gasket and drive it or do a compression test before fixing the TB gasket.

Do you think its enough to cause the carnage that it/ if it/ did?

wish I could help bud, I know getting water into the intake isnt good at all. I would check the compression ifit was me, fix the gasket and then start it up and let it idle. try and let the engine burn off anything that is foreign. It takes the car about 5 mins to burn thru seafoam in the cylinders so give it about that time and see what happens.

where exactly are you seeing a coolant leak in those pictures? I am going to say it is a manifold or head gasket leaking over a tb leak

Look how the TB has corrosion from the water jacket to the air path. Looks like coolant was making it's way into the intake.

I had a mosquito fogger after I didn't tighten the T/B down tight enough after a nitrous nozzle install. Hopefully that is it. I can't see your pics.

clean it up, put a new gasket on it, put some oil in it, flush the coolant, and see what happens....i hate milky oil.

Re: ~~ Need Input ASAP!!! TB Leak! Oil in Water! ~~

Got it all back together. Oil turned milky right away. But this time it ran good and didn't overheat at all. But of course I tell the buyers all about the issue that they have to change the oil multiple times to get all that crap out. I also told them that it maybe worse. And I explained what those things could be. So they take off in the car and I get a call saying that it cut off on them and won't start. Yay.

I tell them the oil is to bad to drive it because it could cause further damage. They tell me if I could get it to thier house they would still buy it. So trailer she goes. And sure enough they give me $2700 wohoo!

Sorry for the pointless post. I still haven't gone to sleep and I even got called into work to fix **** there. That was fun showing up all oily lol

I had my TB leak before, had to change the spark plugs and TB gasket and I did the oil to make sure it was good, turned out O.K. since it was in the summer time and the water was burning out through the exhuast. Not a very good way to steam clean the intakes. LOL

milky oil has always seemed to be a symptom of bad head gasket...

What do you mean? As soon as they called me I gave them the money back. They didnt even want it back. I told them what was wrong and what I did, what was happening, and what else could be wrong. They said if I could get it to thier house they would still buy it.

I was thinking plugs too. But I told them that it cant be driven due to the oil. I wasnt really sure so I just gave them the money back. But they still wanted it. I hope it works out for them, I really do.

Glad to hear your came out OK.

It should be fine , even if they don't do the spark plugs the water will evaporate once warmed up. But might want to let them know. Mine did it becuas of them damm cosmetic TB spacers , it was all ate away like termites or something, I noticed water leaking underneath the TB thinking coolant sensor and then found it was the TB leaking and the spacer looked like crap.
