okay guys my other beater (2002 ford escort) a few weeks back started to make a ticking noise.. almost like an exhaust leak but its not when you pop the hood you can hear its coming from in the engine (injectors area) so i though its the injectors had a stock fuel filter on it (116K miles) so i figured trash got in there and wouldn't allot fuel to pass through correctly.. also it does not tick all the time! it was random at this point.. took the filter off all kinds of trash in there... still ticking but its doing it all the time now.. 2 bottles of lucas and a tank of 93 later stopped ticking.. a week passes startes ticking now usually not under cruise but when its under a load it ticks... WTF is going on!!! also not sure if its related but yesterday the car started to buck really hard and not want to run.. took the gas cap off.. no more bucking.. idles smooth.. and its not throwing a single code.. please help :(

i have a pretty nasty water leak in the passenger side when it rains, the water is coming in between the glovebox and the door panel, but i cant figure out where.
there is also a pretty bad shake in neutral around 1200rpms that completely goes away after, it just seems to be around that idle.
the headlights randomly dim and get brighter while driving, and when hitting the brakes
need to change the timing belt, and the previous owner told me the transmission slips and wont go into gear when cold, but i havent noticed any of those problems yet.

That water leak could be the rubber grommet that the wiring goes through to get into the door... my brother-in-law's Mustang had the same problem with the driver's side, but he didn't catch it until he noticed the mildewy smell because the water ran down and puddled under the carpet in the padding.Rebuilding the engine... Re: Ford Escort help...
It could be that the windshield seal broke. That happened on a previous car I had. When I took the trim piece off there was rust where the water had come in. When the windshield was replaced that problem was solved.2002 Silver Firebird A4
T-Tops, Leather, Y87, W68, Chrome Wheels
Bone Stock
