Ok, so my car died last night in Mcdonalds drive through, which is weird. After some cranking it started back up, it acted like it had ran out of gas, but i have half a tank. After i started it up it ran fine th rest of the night. Went home got up this morning, and it won't start. It turns over and everything, but wont start. I'm pretty sure it isnt getting gas. Theres no gas smell, and I pressed those relief valves on the fuel lines and nothing came out. Checked the fuses and relays and they all seem to be fine. I also can't hear the fuel pump turn on either, I usually can. Do you think the fuel pump is the culprit here?
Thanks
Well i put a whole new sending unit in it, at least i though it was new, with a new fuel pump probably 10,000 miles ago, but I got it off of Ebay. I have another fuel pump and sending unit so if thats what it is I will just switch the fuel pumps and see if that works.
Sounds like fuel pump, you checked all the wiring at the fuel pump too? Im sure you've done this, but maybe change fuel filter. Goodluck let us know how it goes
ok so i put in my old fuel pump that worked fine when i took it out for a new sending unit. Still not getting fuel. Does anybody have any idea??? checked all fuel pump fuses and relays...they seem fine..really need some help on this one!!!
no i un-did the fuel pump's fuel line at the sending unit and no gas came out so i know the pump's not working. weird thing is it started later that day after it wouldn't earlier in the morning. I drove it to my dads so i could work on it, and it died once, but started back up. now it wont start again, even after changing the pump
Make sure your tubes are clamped down very well on the pump. I had a mysterious problem once.. Bought 2 walbro's cause I thought I had a defective one. Just turned out to be the tube.
wouldnt think it would be the tubes since its the factory sending unit and it doesnt prime anyways
Ah yeah my bad. I see now. Have you tried changing out the fuses and relays anyways? Like.. borrow one from something that matches? Unless that's how you checked them already.
