Does anyone know how to reset the oil life monitor if you change your own oil?

    there are a few ways..
the easyest is to hold down the trip/odometer reset button on your guage cluster for a few seconds..

the change oil light will flash a few times, at that point it has been reset..

        Thanks for the info!

I figured it had something to do with the trip meter button since when I took it to the dealer to get the oil changed (first oil change was free) they reset my trip meter. Slightly annoying since I use my trip meter as my gas gauge (the gas gauge only apperas to register the first 13-14 gallons) and to compute gas mileage.

I am a believer in the oil life monitor (I am a computer programmer so maybe I trust technology more than other people) so knowing how to reset it is good since I usually do my own oil changes.

The whole "every 3000 mile" thing is propaganda put out by oil companies and auto mechanics who want to charge you to change your oil!

umm.. if you dont want to reset your trip odometer..

          Ummm.. its something like this..
-turn on your car to acc mode (turn the keys twards you)

-then slowly press in and release the gas peddel like.. 5-6 times..

Somthing like that will do it also..

BTW you can reset it with the car cranked.. it works.. i do it all the time.. (with the odometer method).. the gas peddle method would be funny.. lolol..
