So my camaro has been sitting for almost 2 years (1999 v6) and some how I have managed to lose my keys door and ignition. I cannot find my spare anywhere. I have contacted a few local dealerships and I am still waiting to hea r back from them. Does anyone know if they'll be able to give me a set of keys or am I stuck replacing locks?

they will need your vin number.
the best thing to do is bring the title of your car and your license to the dealership and they will cut you a set of new keys, so you have proof that you actually own the car. -

They should be able to. I recall hearing someone tell me that the dealer cut correct keys by researching the vehicles VIN in its database. I may be wrong though.. Hopefully someone else will know if that is true.Comment

mrhobbz, I called my brother-in-law who works for Joseph Chevrolet here in Cincinnati. The parts counter guy explained to him that GM dealers can create a new key for most vehicles that are late 80's to early 90's by using the VIN number. You will also need to take proof that the vehicle belongs to you just like cam98aro stated above. Hope this helps..Comment

LMAO, I just logged in to ask this exact question. I lost all my keys. So far the only two I can't find are the door keys to my Camaro and a storage key(My landlord should have that though) I have a spare ignition but no luck on the doorComment
