  • How do I get SES codes from 3.4L

I have a 1995 Firebird 3.4L, I put in a new thermostat and accidentally unplugged the spark plug and started the engine back up, It of course started missing so I shut it down and found the unplugged spark plug wire and plugged it back in, ever since then, my SES light is on and even though I've reset it by the means found on this forum, it keeps coming right back, is there any way for me to read codes from the computer? There is not A/B to jump on the ALDL connector and I took it to Autozone and they can't read it either because of no A/B pins. I believe it's not ODBII at that year and engine so I think I may be out of luck.

Any help to keep me from having to take it into the dealer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It used to be that Discount Auto Prts / Advance Auto Parts would pull the SES code for you.
I solemnly swear I am up to no good.

Tried them, they don't do it anymore, at least not here. I know the old way was to jump two pins and watch the blinking lights, but on mine, there are not two pins together like that. I figure it's going to cost me over $100 just to have them pull codes at the dealership. Yet another reason I should have gotten the 3.8L.
