Fuel Leak problems?

I've now realised that when i fill my car up it leaks.. but if i go 3/4 tank i dont think it does.. havent checked what the problem is... figured i would come here and see if anyone has had a similiar issue..

hmm, IIRC there is a hose that connects the filler to the fuel tank, its possible that over the years it has degraded and is now starting to leak.

You telling us you have a gas leak is very vague. Where is the leak coming from? Need more info.

X2 is it dripping when you fill it up to full, can you smell fumes, is a little lepracon sneaking up to your car at night taking fuel out, hows the ring seal on the top of the fuel tank, check your fittings going to the tank and at the fuel filter ,check the engine compartment also on those lines and the fuel injector O-rings, look for drips, don't check for drips with a lighter or match, good luck were all counting on ya.

2000. it drips near the muffler

X2 is it dripping when you fill it up to full, can you smell fumes, is a little lepracon sneaking up to your car at night taking fuel out, hows the ring seal on the top of the fuel tank, check your fittings going to the tank and at the fuel filter ,check the engine compartment also on those lines and the fuel injector O-rings, look for drips, don't check for drips with a lighter or match, good luck were all counting on ya.

You're gonna have to get WAY more specific than that, or post pics. The entire gas tank sits above the rear axle and muffler.

driver side/passenger side? Where is it running from? This question and responses are so vague. Little more help is needed from you. We can do all the help we can with alot of info. and hardly none with none.lol.:wavey:

The only way you can have a fuel leak on the passenger side is if the tank is cracked.

This is so true. You better hope its just running over onto there. What year car you have because depending on what year you have, you have a metal or a plastic tank.

its a 2000.. but then its only cracked at the top because as long as i only fill 3/4 tank im fine

Maybe the rubber ring seal is leaking when you have a full tank it soloishes around and leaks out the top rubber seal.

You'll have to get under there while it's leaking and trace the leak back to its source. If the leak goes beyond where you can see, you have to drop the tank. I would not recommend cutting the access hole to check the ring seal because if there is a spark.... well, you know.
