  • Oil and coolant mixing

Need some help. I had a remanufactured 3.8L engine installed in a 96 Camaro. An licensed auto repair place is doing the swap. The new engine was installed and while they were running the engine and adding coolant, the mechanic noticed oil in the radiator. He immediately shut down the engine and checked the oil stick which was milky indicating coolant in the oil too. What would cause a re-man engine to do this? They are now working with the engine company to see if the gaskets are right. Does anyone know the cause of this problem?

    Thanks,
    her96 Camaro

Thank You. I'll check with the mechanic and tell him. He figured as much but the engine company is making them do other testing first.
