Hey new to the forums here. A little info on the car. Just picked it up Sat. Previous owner put new coil packs (all three), Wires, Plugs and o2 sensors but I have a pretty noticeable skip and loss of power somewhere. Checked wiring order and it was correct so no crossed wires. I know I'm not getting fuel on cyl 5 so i'm guessing injector is out. But I still think i should have more power than I do so idk... Just wondering if a injector out of a 92 grand prix (3.1) would work? I think it's 15lb and that the stock are 16lb. O yea my car is the 3.4 (as you prob have guessed) and 5-speed. The thing that throws me off is that there is no check engine light on??
    Thanks for any help

I would say no. It will fit and the car will run but teh No.5 cyl will be a little leaner all the time and give you a bad rattle

I was thinking that would probably happen. I haven't messed with injectors before so i wasn't sure if either that would happen or that since the stock fuel pressure might be higher on the camaro than it was on the grand prix. That it would work but just max out before the others if I ever needed to up my fuel pressure.

How do you know you're not getting fuel on cylinder 5? You might be able to hear the injectors working (clicking sound) with the engine running if you hold a pipe/screwdriver/something solid up to it and put your ear up to the other end. You might go deaf too.
Better off doing an injector balance test if you have the equipment.
I would think the PCM would pick up on a cylinder 5 misfire if the injector wasn't working. At the very least the o2 sensors would read lean, so the pcm would try to compensate by adding more fuel (to the other 5 cylinders).

I pulled the plug on cyl 5 after we discovered that it made no difference in how it was running when we pulled the wire off of the coil. I'll put up a picture i took comparing it to another plug. After a little visual inspection I noticed the injector on cyl 5. looks rusty but all the others look fine. I'm also thinking i have another injector acting up or something in the ignition system going bad.somtimes it runs crappy as usual but at others it's just horrible. It doesn't have enough power right now to spin on dirt. I also bought a Haynes manual today.

Also, I tried pulling codes but got no response what so ever. I just used a wire and went from the test terminal to the ground right next to it on the obd port. This is how Haynes told me to do it. Right? It says i should get code 12 no matter what..

A little update. Pulled the fuel rail and injectors. I don't know Why GM ever put this motor in so far back. it's almost impossible to get the rail out once the injectors are pulled out of there seat. The injector i had in plan to replace seems to be made alot different so idk if i'll even be a ble to use it. Anybody have any replacements. Don't need a whole set unless that's the only way you'll part. Don't feel like spending 90 bucks Each.

And another update. Got the injectors out of the rail, the screen on my test meter is only showing the top half of the screen so I can't check the ohms until I get a new one. Found injectors on rockauto. com for 40 bucks But may go to a junk yard.

I would go to a junkyard or somewhere for a used injector, but see if you can find one from a car that was recently in running condition.

That's what i'm thinking too. trying to find a good one to go to. any ideas if there's another car with the same injectors. Just in case they don't have a 3.4 Camaro/Firebird?

Re: new guy. 94 Injector/misfire prob.

just got my new tester and did an ohm test on them. 1-12.3 2-12.9 3-12.3 4-5.3 5-12.2 and 6-12.3. So now I know I have one bad for sure. It's wierd that no.5 didn't seem to be working but the injector seem to be good on that cyl. according to the test. Guess i'm gonna pull all plugs next and see what they have to say!
