  • coil packs

    I am going to replace coil packs was wanting some info. on what to use I am looking at the accell-,msd,and gm not sure which one.I will use the gm if the other ones are not good any info. on accel and msd would be helpful or any other recomendations

    I've always heard OEM is the way to go.

            Depends if nitrous or anything is in your future..
            Wait, Is that a V6 or V8?

              Stick with OEM's. I've got MSD's and unless you can get them cheap they will have no impact on performance. The exception as stated is if your planning future mods then you might want to consider them. For the most part though any performance you can throw at these engines the stockers can handle just fine.

                maybe turbo down the road I own a 87 grand national and the feeling of boost is just unmatched by anything else and lots cheaper than nos what ngk plugs should I get

                      At what mileage should the stock coils be replaced at? I'm at 128k and still the on the stock ones.

                        change them and yea oem coil packs are the best wires you can take your pick i have msds and they are nice and ngk plugs are the best everyone here will stand by them

                          Stock coils should be replaced when they start crapping out, or you feel the car is feeling sluggish. If you think they are fine then dont change them.

                          get some tr55 ngks, dont cheap out for some crap 99cent plug. Pick up a set of new stock plug wires too. Maybe fuel filter while you're at it

                            How about the ICM? Would that be worth changing out at 110-120k miles?
