  • Should I change the spark plug temp?

I have noticed a little hesitation around 3500 rpm when gettng on the gas after changing the themostat from 195 to 180, and coinciding a change to the PCM to operate the fans at lower temps.

Every thing is fine. Except when going WOT as it rolls past the 3500 rpm mark, it seems to break up, or miss fire for a moment, then continues.

This has been going on for a few months, and just figured the plugs need changeing. The car now has about 43K miles. I'm thinking that the plugs might be loading up.

I just towed a boat for 160 miles, and now the car runs like a banshee. It revs smooth and clean. While towing the engine temps never went above what was normal for the 195* thermostat, and often would fall back to the 180 * temps on level ground. Time for a trans flush and filter change.

    Check the sig for specs.

Do you think the car needs new plugs and/or wires and/or fuel filter?

    Thanks!

You dont need to run a colder plug unless youve got a power adder. Plugs will normally last longer than 43K, especially platinum unless your running rich or burning oil. If your down for changing them out go for it. They are cheap enough. Def time for a fuel filter though.

Fuel filter is easy change. If you change plugs get some ngk tr55s. You might have a bad coil pack.

you towed a boat with an fbody?
