I just came across this vibration problem recently. My muffler had broken baffles inside which would vibrate at certain times. The way I found the probem was I was tapping the exhaust system with a rubber mallet. It was like hitting a tuning fork. The vibration got louder the closer I got to the muffler. After removing the muffler and looking inside It was obvious what the problem was.

Any SII or SIII balancer should work. They all use the same crankshaft sensor. I went back and in your first posts you said it had already been changed. Your going to change it again?????

I'm putting a SIII in my car now and checked, the cam, crank, and knock sensors are all the same. No reason any balancer for a 3.8 wouldnt work. I left the one on my engine which is from a 06 GP, fits in the car fine. They are the same diameter, just look a little different.

yes it should work but it's not a good style and i would need a longer crank bolt for it to work.

I am having a vibration problem that im trying to figure out! I have a 2000 base Camaro 3.8 5 speed, my slave went so I replaced everything as far as clutch kit, slave, bilot bearing, and bought a new flywheel, After installing everything now I have a vibration while setting still, its smooth at idle but as I run up the rpms, it starts at 1500, and gets at its worst at around 2000. Its not like shaking my teeth out but its there and I can feel it even while driving. The clutch kit is an Exedy and came with slave, I bought flywheel separate at a reputable auto parts store witch they had to order for me!! The vibration wasn't there before the clutch change!

wow digging up an old thread... either way its in the clutch flywheel assembly. did you torque everything with a torque wrench to the same specs? if so your flywheel may have came warped or unbalanced. I have the identical issue that started on the first start up after my A4-M5 swap.

Either your clutch or flywheel or both is improperly balanced.

No easy solution other than pulling the clutch/flywheel and having them balanced.
