Ok guys im about to just call it quits, here it is plain and simple,if anyone can steer me in the right direction and help point out the problem i will be most greatfuland you may possible recieve a small reward from me. OK my car (3.8 t5) vibrates pretty bad at 3000 rpms when you rev it in neutral, when driving it still vibrates possibly even more, but it is the worse when decelerating or engine breaking and again it's at the 3000 mark rpm, shoot some hints, can it be motor mounts, bad clutch, harmonic balancer or my taught, off balance flywheel? it also gets rougher when the ac is on and i dont even rev to 3000 cause it feels really bad,im in college and kinda broke so sending it in to a shop is like my last resort, does anyone have a problem like this,or have an idea what it can be,it has to be engine related becasue when at a stanstill it still vibrates if you rev it,please help asap.:mad::mad:

Re: I'm about to give up.please help!!!!
Ive heard of people's harmonic balancer dry rotting, but if the vibration is that bad I would suspect the flywheel/rotating assembly. You could try pulling the belt off and see if anything changes. There is also the balance shaft in the top end of your engine, but again I dont know if it would vibrate that bad if something went awry with it. You would have to pull the harmonic balancer and timing cover to disable it. Best case scenario would be the harmonic balancer.

I don't know if you ever felt a few cylinders drop but I had bad sparkplugs after inspection and replaced. I had two and it threw me off but I changed the ignition wires to MSD which solved my engine vibration, radio static noise and ABS INOP light all at once. Check your coil output too.Black \'96 RS Camaro, 3.8 V6 Series II, M5, Stock 200 HP, 204K miles! Re: I'm about to give up.please help!!!!
I had my balancer dryrot, felt like the engine had blown and was knocking like crazy, just happened in a slipt second ,stopped to get the mail and then started it back up to go home and in started knocking as soon as I started it up. I was so glad it was just a $100 balancer.08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake

the balancer seems fine and it was already replaced like a year or so,and the clutch has about 10k with about 6 passes at the track, and i kinda beat on the car a bit. is there any way to really check the balancer? cause it doesn't wobble or shake as i can see,and shouldn't it be rough all through the rpms, even throw misfire codes? i dont know.

Have you checked the tranny mount and also any vaccum leaks? Just throwing it out there. Also thinking a bad PCM could be the cause also. I'll check with my Dad and see what he thinks, he retired a few years ago 40 years with GM , so he has seen all kinds of problems with vehicles.08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake

You may not see a wobble in the balancer if it slipped a little. But if it did, the engine would be out of balance and cause your problem. You would have to visually inspect it to see.

i would cheak the balencer just cause its new doesnt mean its good plain and simple. then i would go to the back of the motor but it could be the pcm to it might have a dead spot at 3000 rpm nd 3 cylinders may not be firing all possibilitys
