my map lights on my rear view mirror will not turn off. is there some kind of electrical problem, because the guy i bought the car from had the wiring to the mirror unplugged, and he also didnt have a bulb in the domelight. when i plug the wiring part into the back of the rearview mirror, the lights turn on and will not turn off if when i close the door. i turn the map light switch on and off on both sides and the lights will not turn off.

Something is grounding out. I would check the pin switches at the doors and the switch at the rear hatch.

Is the hatch shut? Is the light control on the dash below the "all the way up" setting? Just thought I'd check the obvious.

I had tp spray some WD40 in the light switches on the inside of the doors. Everytime I hit a bump my lights would turn on and I thought the car was possessd. Instead it was just a little dirty ;0

EXACT same thing happened to me last week. Turned out to be a short to ground on circuit 149. Here's a link when I posted my problem....
