Car Stuttering

Hey guys,

For a few months i've had a slight and very intermittant studder during acceleration and when the car is under heavy load. My inclination was to think that the clutch was slipping. Upon a mechanic's inspection, it seems that it may in fact be an engine issue.

The car has about 88,000 mi on it, and after this past oil change i routinely used a standard bottle of spark plug/engine gunk cleaner when filling my tank . . . i don't know if this could or has compounded any existing problem??

Any suggestions or experiences would be helpful.

Check the ignition stuff. Coils, wires, plugs. I'm going through the same thing right now. I've replaced the coils, and no difference. Next to come in will be the wires.

ever replace the fuel filter? Start there, cheap and should be done anyway. Also pull the plugs and check them out. If they look junk, then get some ngk tr55s

I had this problem and fuel pressure regulator fixed it.

almost positive its probably never the filter but its always good general maintenance
