  • Car trouble after parking downhill?

Full tank of gas, parked pointing downhill.

Car starts ok, but notice the gas gauge is bouncing all over the place, from full to empty.

Lots of hesitation and stuttering as soon as I try to give it some gas. Went away when the engine warmed up, though gas gauge still wandered all over the scale.

Same thing next morning - gas gauge messed up, some stuttering that went away as the engine warmed up.

Any ideas? Did some gas run down a vent line and get where it wasn't supposed to go?

I was probably about a gallon off from a full tank since I had driven about 20 miles from fill-up. No problems from gas station to the parking spot.

Only went about 5 miles on the time the problem first started. Put another 10-15 on the second cold start, no problems on a hot start after that. I haven't run the car since, been taking my other car to work.
