K, when the engine is hot (idle in traffic for prolonged period of time) and I floor it at idle for like 2 secs (upto around 4k rpm) I see smoke out of the tail pipe! It's not like hardcore smoke, but you see puffs... couldn't identify the color yet, but it's not pitch black.

    My guess would be it's burning a little oil or it's simply unburned fuel... I'm gonna do compression check and find out if it might be rings and oil gettin into combustion chamber... any other input?

    the problem that bugs me is that at the startup no smoke.. only when it gets real hot I notice some... is a little smoke normal when stabbin the accelerator?

    most likly unburnt fuel

    umm your rings are expose to be around your pistons not in the chamber..... might what to have that looked at

    see whe you just stopm it like that some piston get more air befoe the others, but the PCM already knows that much air is coming it, so it puts more fuel in all the pistons to account for the air.

    what about you cat? it could be going to

        </font>
He wasn't saying his rings were in the combustion chamber. Re-read it, he was saying he'd check to see if the rings were the problem, and if oil is getting in the combustion chamber.

              do a leak down test on it, if the valves are leaking you will be able to locate the area in which the leak is coming from. Then go from there. Im not 100% possitive on these cars but you should probally be able to see if a valve seal is messed up by taking the valve covers off a peaking in.
