I believe that is the MAP Sensor, the FPR is on the other side.

If the only problem you have is that it's leaking, you could probably just replace the O-ring

yea that is the map sensor follow the vacuum line around the back and thats the fuel pressure regulator. it sits on the fuel rail. (circled in red)

If it is leaking fuel around the MAP sensor there's a good chance your FPR has gone bad. When they do go bad they will put fuel into that vacuum line that connects the FPR to the MAP sensor.

The vacuum line that goes onto the FPR can be pulled off easily enough to check.. Basically, if the vacuum line has fuel in it, it's bad. Run the car for like 10 seconds to get some pressure built up, turn off the car, and pull that line off.

Let us know how it goes or if you have any other questions. I've had to change my FPR a few times so if yours is in fact bad, there are people here with experience.

thanks everyone for the good responses. The reason i needed to know is because sometimes i get the smell of fuel on startup and the cars idle isnt horrible but isnt normal either, that and that the car hesitates more the harder i hit the gas from a stop so ive been thinking its the FPR since some of those symptoms match.

Yeah, I'd bet on the FPR. If you haven't changed it yet.. FYI, it's nearly impossible without taking the whole fuel rail off.

There might be a writeup. Let's just determine if you really need to take it off for sure first. It takes like 1 minute to check that vacuum line back there.

But basically, you have to take your ICM off (the plate that holds where all the spark plugs are connected to), the MAP sensor, the electrical plugs to all the injectors, pull up the fuel rail with all the injectors still connected, then you can do 1 of 2 things, either remove your alternator or pull the injector closest to the alternator from the fuel rail. Either way you go, you should be able to get the fuel rail out from the car. Then you need some snap ring pliers to get the FPR out of the fuel rail. Installation is then reverse.

thanks everyone looks like the FPR is the culprit. Vacuum hose was a little we inside and was def fuel
