I don't remember if I asked this b4 or not but... here it goes again...

I have a 3.8 stock, I just put on the 4th set of spark plugs and spark plug wires (both AC Delco this time) in two months, so can we cross those out now? Alright this sucker, when I'm accelerating in 2nd or 3rd sometimes 4th I get a small single studder or kinda what I like to think of it as is a misfire. Some times its not just one it may be an Off-beat couple of studders... I dunno I'm wrackin my brain here I don't wanna replace a whole buncha shiznit but I figure its the only way to find out... anyone got any ideas? anyone had this happen b4? thanks for info... alot times it wont happen... I can tell no pattern as far as in the morning or afternoon / just started running or after 30 mins of driving... there is no pattern, just whenever it friggin feels like it... xept the fact when i'm accelerating sometimes more than others...

    thanks

oh yea forgot my bad i just picked it up from them being changed the 4th time just an hour ago and drove it home... it was still doing it.. but funny thing is as i was driving over time it seemed to not happen ... just when i first started to leave... of course knowing her she will start acting up again, watch and see.. its done this b4... be all fine for a few days and start acting up again...

If not wires or plugs, all I can think of is a bad coil

Mine does the same thing. I have replaced the plugs, wires, coils, and injectors. It missed more with bosch then it does with ac delco, so today I'm going to try copper plugs. I'll let you know what happens.

        Does it throw any codes?

Even if it doesn't, autotap could be useful. If it is on one cylinder, then you could check out the fuel injector. Or it could be the coil pack feeding that plug.

If it is across all cylinders, or at least a few diffrent ones that arn't on the same coil, then you have to worry about fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator, or a bad cat.

The main things it to figure out what cylinders are misfiring.

Ya no codes cept for my EGR valve (1406) Isn't that some kinda faulty crap from GM? or is the EGR valve really bad? I'll have that checked...

plus I asked the guy that changed the plugs if there was any foulin and he said no... maybe its something with the fuel pump or fuel lines or maybe the coil packs or intake/exhaust... /sigh
i changed the fuel filter 2 months ago after all this started...

            Maybe a clogged fuel fitler?

The same thing has been happening to my '98. I changed the fuel filter last week, and I've just changed the plugs and wires. So far it seems to have gone away, but I've only driven it about 30 miles. Please keep me posted on your progress, because it sounds like we have the same problem, and mine will probably start acting up again.
