stock V8 exhaust should be good enough, cheap too. I'm picking one up for 50 bucks this weekend.

What was up with the trans? were you getting the leaking or the rough shift points?

Just checked out your ride; looks really good, but definitely missing the dual exhaust touch!

magnaflow 3" in/out hi flow cat, or just straight pipe.
stock v8 exhaust sounds good on these cars, i had it on my old bird.

                Hard 1-2 shift?

Now that I have my Magnaflow system sealed off right, I absolutely LOVE it. But I got rid of my catty, and it's 2.5" system. Got it off Ls1tech for 155 shipped with 3 O2 sensors, a interior trim piece that I broke, and a 3.42 diff.

Yes. Occasionally after driving for an extended period of time on the highway, I will exit and the car will begin shifting hard in the first three gears. The remedy is to pull over, shut off the car and wait a few minutes before moving again. The OBDII threw a transmission slip code. Other than the hard shifting, the transmission doesn't slip. I asked about the problem awhile back and someone told me it's a $20 part to repair the problem.

The majority of items on this list were problems that I was already aware of, such as the oil leaks, window motor, exhaust, etc...

I replaced two oxygen sensors last spring and both of them are throwing codes again. The converter was hacked off shortly before I purchased the car and a replacement was welded on. Unfortunately that converter isn't working properly.

I have been searching for a stock Z28 catback. If nothing turns up soon I'll go with Magnaflow. I had the 3 in. catback on my '96 Z28 and it sounded really good!

Re: The Final Verdict/Laundry List of Repairs

Yeah, I had to replace the TCC valve on my car too, same symptoms, highway driving after about 30 miles on highway, and very hard 1-2 shifts, and pretty rough 2-3 shifts. Got the $20 part on http://www.transmissioncenter.net/4l60e.htm its part number #1870V. While installing it, I had the guys at my local trans shop put in a transgo shift kit from summit as well (http://www.summitracing.com/parts/TRG-4L60E-HD2), i highly reccomend getting it! really firms up your shifts, and makes the car much more fun to drive. As for exhaust, I have a magnaflow 15693 catback i got off ebay for about $350ish, and LOVE it. For the cat, I just clamshelled mine open with a cut off wheel, pulled out the honeycomb, and cleaned it all out, then welded it shut. Then just pop in an O2 emulator from ZZP http://www.zzperformance.com/grand_p...ts1.php?id=967 so that your check engine light stays off, and you can still get away with emissions.

Hope this helps, and hope nobody minds all the links I posted, just tryin to help the guy out.

In my opinion, my car sounds pretty agressive/awesome now. but it may be too loud for some people.

See if you can dig up a couple of older threads started by me.. going back about 3-5 months ago. They were regarding the transmission issue.
