Re: Help with diagnosing odd noise

Thanks everyone for all the advice. I really appreciate it!
I had a mechanic friend look at my car today. We eliminated the possibility of it being the starter hitting the flywheel. He says if it was the starter then it would make a noise while at idle and in park. He thinks the drive shaft is making the noise. Maybe the splines are bad? Does that make sense? I honestly know nothing about rear wheel drive cars. lol

I still say it's a u joint. They can ping like that when they take a dump. My buddies Colorado lost one and it made the same sound. Do you have a one peice or a two peice driveshaft?

          Update:
Turns out I was wrong and the starter bendix is loose/bad and is hitting the flex plate while driving. So a new starter will hopefully be the end of my car troubles for awhile!

Does that mean were going to stop seeing you around?
