Re: camaro body
I'm going to keep my negative comments to myself however if you find a good C5 car with the running gear and all you should look into one of these.

You can have an Enzo killer for half the price of a Nissan GTR.

Would it specifically need a Corvette Chasis or just the Engine and Transmission?
Will an F-Body 4L60E work???
I would totally rather put a Turbo'd 3.8L in that thing...Last edited by Need4Camaro; 01-12-2011, 11:55 PM.1997 Camaro RS W/T-Tops<br />All Stock / 200 HP

If you can find a complete Corvette donor car wrecked with the engine and all the useable parts according to the site the only thing you need to source out is the Porsche TransAxle and transmission.
I doubt the 3.8 will work on it but its worth a shot. ;)

All it is, is the option to buy either the Porsche GT2 and GT3 Transaxles instead of being limited to the G50 Transaxle. They also offer the Recardo Transaxle which is used in the Ford GT and Pagani Zonda, some honda race cars use it as well. Bullet proof trans, ill tell you that much.

Re: camaro body
Doubly agreed on the FFR GTM.FFR makes an incredible kit car; i toured their factory up in MA a while back. The kit, if I remember correctly really only uses the C5 parts such as engine, brake components, computer, etc. The trans is a used Porsche 911 G50; but now they actually have custome built trannies they offer. But the chassis of the GTM is a full tubular engineering beauty;
I remember being dumbfounded when they said you can buy the frame and other major components for only 20g. I was going to build one when I got the money, but might have to start with one of their easier kits. My neighbor has a full garage with lift, and has been a mechanic all his life, so if he would be willing to help for a few weekends I would still get the GTM.
