  • Exhaust pitch changes between 30 - 45mph

I know this sounds like a strange subject however, I'll attempt to explain. My exhaust is a 3" in/out Hi-Flow Cat connected to a FlowMaster muffler. Lately when going between 30 and 45 MPH I can hear the pitch change on the exhaust tone, it seem like only on the right but then my hearing isn't what it once was, once above 45 it seems to even out and I can't hear the change anymore. There is no drop/rise in RPMs when this is happening. Prior to this fillup I ran a can of Seafoam through the tank and it seemed to disappear but now it's apparently back. Are there any steps I can take to try and troubleshoot this or is there really even an issue other than the pitch change.

    Thanks
    Chris

pitch change in exhaust tone? Maybe first check to see if there are any leaks in your exhaust system, from manifolds/headers all the way back.

Its just the flowmaster muffler probably , they will get pitchy at a certain RPM.

Possibly, the tone/pitch seems to keep going up and down, the mufflers about a year and 1/2 old. I'm not going to worry about it.

              Thanks for all the replies
