2002 Pontiac Firebird 3.8L V6 ...
The Fuel Pump I used - "Racetronix 1999-2002 LS1 F-Body Fuel Pump Assembly - $150"
To be clear, I had the pump, fuel gauge sending unit, and evap cannister sitting in my house before I began smelling antifreeze so I went ahead with the install, plus the mechanic is going to tell me where it's leaking.
Anyway though, I sent it to the shop who's going to be doing my motor swap... I know to get to the pump you have to drop the rear axel and the fuel tank, which is why it went to a shop.
I called up today to ask him how it was going and when they suspect the vehicle would be ready, and they told me they had to cut the stock Y87 exhaust and have to take it to a muffler shop to get it re-weilded... << Do you have to do this to drop the axle? I'm making sure...
Secondly - and the thing that most concerns me, is they said they had to do "alot of modifications" to get that pump to connect... Um... I thought these were plug and play pumps?? I'm praying to god this isn't a ghetto fabbed job that might leave me stranded on the side of the highway... - I did this because I needed to replace the evap canister so I could pass emissions and the fuel gauge sending unit so I could see how much gas I have once again... and the fuel pump was done cuzz I'm going to either turbo or LSX swap in the future and I want all the necessary stuff to be done... heck I'm not even sure if I'm going to have a return line anymore... well it HAS to have a return line still right???
Should I be worried?
