  • E10 regular fuel

    hi,
    I have a difficult question.
In the Netherlands (where i live) the goverment is changing the regular RON95 fuel, they are going to mix this with 10% ethanol.
This is already happened in France and in Germany.

I have a 2001 3.8V6 Camaro, and my question is, does my camaro drive well with this fuel, or is it bad for my engine.

I don't know if this already happened in the USA too ?

    Re: E10 regular fuel

We've had E10 for YEARS. Most people here don't even know the difference. I wouldn't worry about it. You shouldn't notice a difference except slightly lower gas mileage.

        hi,

        Thanks for the responce,
i just read a topic (LS1.com) the USA is getting 15% Ethanol in there fuel

The E10 fuel is new to the Netherlands, but how long did the USA already have the E10 ?

Is it right the 3.8V6 uses RON 91 and the LS1 needs RON95,

Yea theyre looking to go to 15% as soon as possible. I think when they do, people will start to notice, you'll see loss in MPGs, as well as HP

If your talking about octane ratings, then most people use 87 over here and 93 is our premium at least where I live. I've heard European countries have much higher octane than we do though.

Don't be confused. European countries don't rate their fuel like we do. They are using the Research Octane Number. The US uses a calculation. (RON+MON)/2 So, their 98 octane, is just about the same as our 93 octane.

Also, why don't you run your car on E85? Works great for turbo cars.
