Re: How to build the ultimate v6 f-body
Have no idea what the total is.
Been a while since this thread was updated. With moving the shop and all, we have been spending crazy hours just to get back operational.
Well, we had a mis-hap, but turned out to be a blessing in disguise.
During the move, the Camaro was outside and we had a torrential downpour, manifold was on the engine, but lacking injectors and thanks to Chevy's brilliant design, water got in the engine! Well, we took the manifolds and heads off to find a bit of surface rust on the cylinder walls. We wouldn't let this type of build go out the door in that condition, so out the motor came.
Well, upon opening the oil pan on this 10,000 mile engine, first thing we noticed was that the rod caps were tightened inconsistently! Then after pulling the two pistons out, we noticed slight grooves in the bearing themselves :( Engine was already bred .040" over and the numbers someone wrote on all the rod caps were in no particular order.
Anyways, there's been more progress, but we were held up slightly by this situation and Paul will be getting a new motor for the cost of parts since we want to keep our name reputable. We didn't feel comfortable with the bottom end and 11.6:1 SCR.
Anyways, on to pics...
