I have a 98 camaro with 234000 miles on the car and a motor with 144000mi. The problem i'm having is that the dipstick pops out whenever I run it hard. It seems to run ok still. Any suggestions?

Re: Oil Dipstick?
Not personally, no. With 144k miles, it's not outside the realm of possibility that the rings are getting shot. only thing that can cause a dipstick blow out on a stock 3.8 is excessive crankcase pressure.www.fullthrottlev6.com
www.chitownracing.com

Re: Oil Dipstick?
readings are cylinder#1-170, #2-165, #3-175, #4-160, #5-165, #6-170. Cold engine or at least it was when i was done! Hayes manual says 100psi min. with 30% difference from highest reading. I think it's ok but would love some input. Sorry for how long that took forgot I posted this.:work:

Re: Oil Dipstick?
What you have is a blowby. I don't think those pressurize test will tell you the whole thing.
What I would do is for you to plug your TB hole that goes directly to your PCV. Hard it hard again and if your dipstick pops then you seriously need new rings.
