  • Fuel Line Qick Release

Hey guys, so my 3800 Series I in my beater Buick LeSabre has a leaking fuel line. It leaks right at the quick release clip that plugs into the fuel rail. Does anyone know how to fix this?

It looks like the clip itself is attached further up the line, like its a crimped on piece or something. The fuel lines go into the firewall and I think they would be a total pain to replace the whole line. I found this product which looks right: http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/de...3755&ppt=C0024

Is there a special tool I will need to make this work?

Also I figured out why my airbag light is on, this vacuum line is labeled ABG:

Yeah, I had the exact same problem with the fuel line in my Dad's 95 Riviera. I used a similar, if not the exact same product to fix it. It's pretty simple and took me less than 30 mins start to finish!

It should come with a barbed fitting. Cut the factory line, shove the barb in, heat up the new line and slide it on the other end of the barb.

          Hey,

Thanks that worked. I realized how it works when i picked up the kit :). Seems fine now. My Camaro is having fuel problems as well, the fuel rail cracked. Going to be pulling that out tomorrow. Is there any reasonable way to pull the fuel rail out without removing the injectors too?

You have to remove the injectors. The toughest part about pulling a fuel rail out of a v6 F-body is getting the map sensor out of the rear of the passenger side of the manifold. You need either a T-27 or T-25 torx to get it out. Unbolt the 4 bolts that retain the rails and lift up and out. Depending on age, you might want to grab a set of injector o-rings. You'll notice a fuel smell if one of those starts leaking. Can you see your leak?

              Hey,

Yea I ended up realizing that I can't do it otherwise. I bought 6x o-ring kits and i will swap the o-rings on all the injectors. The leak right now is a huge crack by the test port on the rail.

Magnus had the same thing happen years ago. He got it welded up. Let me know if you need a rail.

So I broke the vacuum line going into the MAP sensor. I have no idea where the vacuum line goes. I think it's in the big wire loom and it must have snapped inside the loom. It's not the vacuum line in the back that goes to the fuel pressure regulator, it's the other one. Does anyone know where that side ends up? I could just bypass the loom and cut it on that side and run a new vacuum line next to the loom. Alldata shows it as:

"Accessory" with it not leading anywhere. Wtf?

It's the vacuum source for your hvac controls.

                      Bird of Prey,

Tnx :). I found the place where it splits into like 2 other lines and bypassed the wire loom completely with a new line. Car seems fine now, but I'm going to run a can of seafoam through in case i got any dirt on the injectors when putting em in.
