  • Fuel Gauge still broke after replacing sending unit...

I replaced the sending unit for my fuel gauge and it still does the exact same thing...

It will either always read FULL, or always read EMPTY... no in between - just bounces from FULL to EMPTY here and there... when on EMPTY, my check gauges light comes on...

Is this really a bad cluster? Cuzz if it was, then wouldn't my check gauges light NOT come on while it was on empty???

I think it's almost always the fuel sending unit. Did you get a new bucket w/ sender or just a junk yard one? They're also pretty sensitive to being damaged so... its possible the one you put in is bad. I gave up on my fuel gauge but its really not a DD so it doesn't matter.

I was able to purchase the sender alone, but its a new sender and not a junkyard one. The mechanic told me he had to modify my bucket somewhat though to put my racetronix pump in, and plus they had to modify some fuel lines... could this be the problem?

P.S. This is the sending unit that is being used.

Please dont tell me I'm going to have to have the whole rear axle dropped AGAIN.
