  • Spare Tire & Jack Placement

Yesterday afternoon I was flagged down at a traffic light and told that my tail lights were out. I had a friend step on the brake pedal and discovered that all of my tail lights were blown except for the 3057 bulb in the left housing. My turn signals and reverse lights worked fine. I had to replace both of the 3rd brake light bulbs, both corners with 194's and went ahead and changed out both 3057's.

The initial problem was removing and replacing the spare tire & jack to access the right tail light housing. I had never had the tail lights off of the car since I have owned it and discovered the jack was just laying there next to the spare.

What is the correct placement for the jack? Any help is gladly appreciated.

the jack should be bolted down to the hump under the carpet, there is a spot built into it there. Not laying in the well next to the spare.

If you flatten the jack out you'll see a hole offset from the center of the jack. This hole fits around a peg that sits on top of the right rear tire. If your lucky maybe the piece that threads into the hole to hold the jack down is laying in the spare tire compartment.
