Re: AC Delete
Depends, if you just want to take the out the ac compressor, condenser, and the lines, then its not bad, but you'll need to replace the idler pulley above the compressor with a grooved one and get a shorter belt. If you wanna take out the hvac housing as well then it's a little more work, you'll have to unbolt all of the bolts under the hood and then take apart the dash to remove the other bolts and pull it out the from the interior of the car. You'll need a block off panel to cover up the massive hole thats left.
If you go to autozone the p/n for the belt and pulley are:
Belt: 805k6
Pulley: 231051
(I saw this on another thread but I don't remember who posted it to give credit.)
Block off plate:

Now, the belt will rub a little bit unless you file down the area on the coolant passage.
Now, if you are gonna do this make sure your system is drained first. There are 3 bolts on the front of the compressor and 2 on the back. Then for the lines you'll just need two adjustable wrenches and take them off. The condenser just pulls out of the top after you take the radiator shroud off. The rest is pretty straight forward. Then take off the idler pulley and replace it with the grooved one, then file that area and slap the new belt on. If you end there you'll keep your heat and blower motor, but if you don't want that then you'll have to take apart the dash and remove all of the bolts and vacuum lines.
I think AC is pretty useless with t-tops but thats mainly because of where I live. I need the heat though so I didn't take out the rest of it.

Re: AC Delete
to be 100% honest....i did a delete many years ago....and no an going to put it back in this spring. i deleted just about everything. i even took the black box out of the firewall....that is the only part that i regret doing cause its gonna be a pita to get a new one back in. if your going to do...your not going to save that much weight leaving that in.
take out the compressor, condensor etc is fine and easy to reinstall.
you might think that you never want it in there again....but you will if your in my boat(keeping the car for my son who will want a/c one day lol)
your not going to loose that much weight taking that cr@p out
