    The fuel pump priming is a 2 second relay under the hood, if you turn the key and jump out real fast you can hear it click off. I would check for fuel pressure at the rail, on the passenger side of the car. If it ran off of ether that means that it should run off of gas. You should be able to rent a gauge at a local parts store for next to nothing, and that will tell you ultimately if it is a fuel pressure issue. Hell if anything take a couple of rags and cover the port itself (so that when it sprays fuel, it doesn't spray you in the face) and push in on the shrader valve and see if you get gratuitous amounts of fuel. If so then it sounds like an injector issue, cause of which could be numerous things, but you will be one step closer to diagnosis.
