I don't even know what's up... Just when I hit a bump or anything that moves the car around, it squeals and makes some kinda metal-on-metal sounding squeak. I'm thinking heat shields? Or what?

springs or something in that area could be rubbing something. does it sound like its in the back corner? try pressing down on the back and seeing if it does it.Wait, Is that a V6 or V8?

I don't know about metal-on-metal sound but it could be your front sway bar bushings. Mine did that when you turn hard or go over a speed bump.2000 Camaro 3.8 v6 M5

Definitely very vague to make any real determination. You're going to have to locate the sound as to where its at on the car. Saying it squeaks is like saying it smells......could be MANY possibilities.1995 Pontiac Firebird

Well it wounds to me like its coming from the middle somewhere. But I know my brakes and entire suspension are getting old as well. I don't think it's the brakes because they make a different noise when I stop, I know that one. I'll try and pinpoint it at work today. But since you brought it up, it smells too. :P But that's since I run no cat.Comment

Nope. But some WD-40 fixed it. It was some black support in the rear. The bolts holding it in were getting loose. I dunno what it is, but there's like a z shape with 3 of 'em.Comment
