This afternoon the car was on idle for some five minutes and the temperatute gauge was raising up. I checked under hood and I heard some boiling noise and I turned off the engine. After some hours I checked the radiator and it was low in coolant, and the reservoir was over the level. The radiator looks clean.
Last week I flushed the coolant system because there was some oil (it looked like that), and the radiator was loosing coolant (no traces of coolant in the oil). I added the yellow-green coolant and drove the car some minutes without a problem. I did this only to clean the radiator while I take the car with somebody who can fix it. I've been told that it is a cracked cylinder head.
My question is if the boiling noise is due to a faulty thermostat, or it is because of the problem the car has had.
