How to tell if you have an RS car

I have an 01 v6 and wondering how to tell if my car is a true rs or not. What RPO codes would make it an RS? Thanks

dang, I dont have the y87 package :( I figured I didnt have an RS since mine is open differential reaer end

its the Y3F package for it to be an RS. Y87 is a performance package.

the only RS camaros made in 01 were SLP camaros, and they would have a bow tie grille and racing stripes.

y87 was a performance package

Y3F was the "sports apearance package".... the "RS" name plate was dropped, except from SLP

codes you have to have for it to be a real 96-97 RS

CAMARO RS 96-97
coupe/convertible/preferred equipment group
1SN/1SR/BASE MODEL
1SP/1SS/PREFERRED EQUIPMENT GROUP 1
1SQ/1ST/PREFERRED EQUIPMENT GROUP 2

A regular V6 Camaro coupe will only be 1SA, 1SB, or 1SC
the convertible will be 1SD, 1SE, or 1SF.


01-02 were built by slp Production Version Camaros - SLP RS



RS was dropped, Y3F pack was now avaible for both the V6 and V8..

not all RS's had Y87 just most did.
