replacing the icm on my 99 bird and i was just wondering how i remove the harness off the back? i know theres a bolt in the back holding it on but does anyone know what kind of bolt it is? also how is the icm and the bracket held together? i hope it doesnt have anything to do with the coil pack bolts because one of them is rounded off and im trying to avoid having to drill it out by replacing the whole icm

Re: replacing icm
I don't think you need to pull the packs to get the ICM out of the car, but you do need to swap them to the new ICM.<a href=\"http://www.fullthrottlev6.com\" target=\"_blank\">www.fullthrottlev6.com</a><br /><a href=\"http://www.chitownracing.com\" target=\"_blank\">www.chitownracing.com</a>

Re: replacing icm
All depends on which coil pack it is. If you can get at least the back one off its not bad to take the harness off. The coil pack bolts are 5.5mm bolts, but a 7/32s works too. As for the harness its either a 7 or 8mm can remember. With how it is for you you should probably just take off the whole bracket which is held on by two 13mm nuts to the left of the coils and one 13mm bolt in the front of the bracket.
