I was driving it along, and I hear a loud pop, and my car dies. All the lights stay on. Cranking it up, it's hard to start, and once it does, it dies in a few seconds.
Guy who helped me said it might be alternator, but I'm looking here for a second opinion.
Please don't say fuel pump, that was replaced 4 months ago...:(
What do you mean when you heard a loud pop? Is that a pop from the exhaust or under the hood? Is it throwing a code?
If it's the alt. you should be able to start your car still - if your battery is fully charged that is. Then you can look at your gauge and see if there's a charge going on.
I have a feeling this might be related to your coils.
Well I was accelerating hard and I heard a loud pop somewhere. At first I thought it was the transmission. Trying to recall, it seemed to be from the front. I may have been imagining things.
Car will start, but it takes a few seconds of cranking and it'll die immediately.

Just the connectors going to the battery? Those are hooked up correct. The car still cranks just fine, just rough running and gas smell. And after revving, it'll sputter till it almost dies.
Hey everyone! I've been trying to remove my transmission for two days now! I need to replace the clutch. Only thing I've got left holding the transmission...
