so my firebird left me stranded. When i put the key in the ignition, i can turn all the accessories(radio, gauges etc) on. when i make the final turn to start the car it just starts clicking at the starter and brain box. My battery was reading 9 amps/volts. so i took my brand new one out of my suburban and hooked it up, it didnt start the car. So my question is, is it my starter, the selenoid on the starter, brain box, or the tumbler in the ignition? this is my dd and i have no clue. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: need help plz
Sounds like a failing starter. You wouldn't get clicking from the starter if there was a security issue. Have you tried whacking the starter with a hammer yet?www.fullthrottlev6.com
www.chitownracing.com

Re: need help plz
Agreed, I would check the starter. You can test it by running a jumper cable from the battery positive to the terminal on the starter motor and see if the starter motor actually turns the engine. Just don't have the key in or it may start. Then try moving the jumper cable to the positive on the solenoid and see if it cranks. If it does, then then starter is good.2002 Silver Firebird A4
T-Tops, Leather, Y87, W68, Chrome Wheels
Bone Stock
