So now that I got my tranny to work like it should, not dying of gas smell, and new tires on the front, I'm leaking coolant. It's the damn plastic elbows, lower one right under the alt. I replaced both of 'em like 3 weeks ago... and then 3 weeks before that. Am I stuck with $4 every 3 weeks and 2 hours to fix it, or is there ANY way to get them not to leak?!

There is are metal ones you can buy. I think Steve SSM got them at the dealer.
Mine smells like coolant too when I've been driving my bird for a while. But knock on wood no leak anywhere. But I'm contemplating if I should go ahead and replace them anyone.

I don't know if the transverse engines are the same, but I just replaced mine on my Impala @135k(3800 but set up for fwd). I was supprised they hadn't leaked, but it didn't take much to break them as I removed them. I'm just thankful they were easier to replace than I was expecting.
That you've had to do it twice seems strange to me. Are you sure you didn't score the metal bore on the engine or leave any of the old elbow there? You may want to take a closer look. Just a thought.
