  • Alt sense wire dead at harness... Ideas?

Hey guys I could really use some help here. My alternator will not turn on at all. I just had it rebuilt, and have tested 2 more on there just to make sure it wasn't my alt. After a little troubleshooting, we discovered that the sense wire leading to the alternator was not working. Does anyone have any ideas as to which fuses or relays I can change to get my baby running again?

Chevy never looked at the car, but said it was most likely the BCM causing issues. I'm not sure if that's true or not, but it certianly woluld explain my radio randomly turning on and off.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

    Thanks.

Looking at the wiring diagrams in the service manual, it appears that the alternator control wire comes from the PCM.

Did you try to follow the wire to see where it goes? Maybe there is a break in the wire?

Good luck, electrical troubleshooting is not always easy.
