Any one know if the vent tube for the automatic transmission on an 02 firebird 3.8 is supposed to just be vented to atmosphere or if it's supposed to be routed to a charcoal canister or something similar?

Vent tube is on the top of the tranny and hangs down.08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake

Mine was connected to the axle vent tube with a "T" fitting, I was just curious if that "T" fitting was supposed to be connected to any thing, seemed strange to have the two connected if they are just going to vent it to atmosphere.Comment

It just doesn't seem like a "GM" thing to waste 4 or 5 feet of vacuum line to connect the tranny and the axle vent tubes for no reason.Comment
