Car Manufactured Date

When I was checcking my RPO codes on CompNine (sadley no lomger available), it told me that my car was built on the 2nd Feb 1999.

My VIN tells me that my production number is 24,520.
There were 42,098 Camaro´s built in 1999.
So that means they built 24,520 cars in the first 5 weeks of 1999 and under 18,000 in the last 47 weeks. It doesn´t make sense to me. Any ideas anybody? How can I find out when my car was built in 1999?.

I can remember reading somewhere but can´t remember where that new production runs started in October. Is this correct? if so it would make more sense.

Any help would be appreciated.

Check the RPO sticker, top right tells you month&year... also they start production of the next years cars in like October.

There were 42,098 Camaro´s built in 1999.

No - there where 42,098 model year 1999 Camaros built.
