I know my fuel pump has had better days. Would that cause it?
Directly, no ... Fuel Pump won't throw any codes as I've had one fail completely. Fuel EMISSIONS problems would throw SES codes such as an evap leak in the line or a bad gas cap. but the pump itself wont throw a code... Now will a bad fuel pump cause your car to stall in 4th gear? Very possible yes... Mine was random about stalling though and usually didnt die as long as I was moving at a reasonable speed.
When it stalled out I went from full load in 4th to neutral and no load, so maybe it just lost pressure? Is there some way to test fuel pressure at the rail?
Scratch that... tested it, and I've barely got 30 psi at the rail, idling.
Thats your FPR or your fuel pump. Should be 44PSI or around there, probably fuel pump.
