Hey All, been quite a while since I've posted heh...
So I have had the 96 in storage for the past 2 years... first year just to store it, second year because the motor blew after 2 days of driving due to sludge buildup...
Needless to say I need a motor, rod snapped...
What am I looking at for another engine? I'll be installing myself to save money unfortunately...
08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake

no problem. It's how I got my motor for a steal. $450 and the motor had 5,000km on it...and it had 5,000 km on it lol. Every single part looked brand spanking new inside...
as for you're ticking time bomb...Mine blew at 280k = 175,000miles turning the fastest run I've pulled yet...you have a looooooong way to go.

IT IS EASYER TO WORK ON A NEW MOTOR,vs a motor in a compartment.
Here's the thing, so I see most of you suggest that I can just swap my head ( assuming its still good) onto a newer block, will the stock computer still work with it? I've been out of the car tuning scene for a long time and feel out of the loop... lol

Yes, all the sensors you have will be reused, comp is fine. Reuse your heads, intake and oil pan...actually as long as the heads you receive don't have the injectors in them, you can use the new heads
