  • Oil in the throttle body

I noticed there seemed to be some oily stuff at the bottom of my maf screen. I popped it out and sprayed some carb cleaner in there and wiped it out best I could. Is this maybe just grime dripping out from when i seafoamed a month or so ago or is there an oil passage that can leak into the throttle area?

Also I'm assuming the little horn shaped thing that sits just behind the screen is the maf - is that safe to spray out with cleaner? I wasn't sure so left it alone.

Thanks, it's been a few years since I replaced it.

Don't spray the MAF with carb cleaner. Spray it with a cleaner specified for use on MAF's.
