ac leak question

okay my ac has never worked since i had this car i can charge it up and it will work for a few days then slowly leak out where would a good spot be to look for the leak and could i use the spray bottle with soap in it to look for the leak like you can do to tires

What year you working with?? I had an issue and found the to the pipe that runs from the drier to condenser. It had a leak under the rubber cover. I have an 01 camaro with 3.8. The way I found it, was I used the dye and saw it come out from rubber. I boughs. The new pipe from rockauto and fix the problem.

i have a 98 so you think dye is my best bet

You can get the freon with the dye in it. It's worth it, it comes out bright green, you can't miss it.
