To rebuild, or not to rebuild, that is the real question my friends. Lol anyway I've been really wanting to toy around with my bird but being it my daily driver, living paycheck to paycheck as a college student, I've decided to hold off on my mod aspirations. I've decided to just keep driving it until I can afford to lease something cheap, good on gas, etc. Once its off the road, I would like to rebuild the engine from the bottom up, full restoration. I would like to supercharge it, the whole nine yards. I keep getting flack from v8'ers but I want to be convinced I'm making a good choice. I like my six and I think it's worth restoring and putting the work in to get it to it's potential. This Won't happen for a while but Ive always wanted to rebuild an engine and restore a car, so why not my bird?

Re: To rebuild, or not to rebuild?
Different as in more difficult or more unique? I'd like to repaint her too, like a deep metallic blue. What would be more satisfying than destroying an 8'er with a v6 sleeper. That's the way I see it, it'd be different. I'm trying not to look at it in a $ perspective. I've learned so much about my car and if I got rid of her id be heart broken lol as lame as that sounds.

Re: To rebuild, or not to rebuild?
you know i was in the same boat with you. I was on the fence thinking it would be super cool to have an awesome v6. Then when i looked into more and more it just wasnt worth it. The market for v6 parts is just not there really. you will spend more money and time building the v6 and getting the tune/maf dialed in. When you will probably make the same amount of power with a stock ls1. Also keep in mind the market for ls1 stuff is HUGE! they make everything you could ever want to do.
But at the end of the day the choice is yours

Re: To rebuild, or not to rebuild?
I hear ya, thanks for the input. As much as I love the LS1 I'd really like to find an early generation firebird or camaro. I'm also very partial to early corvettes, stingrays are my favorite. Lots of abandoned muscle cars in my area but I'd have to check em out to see if they are worth investing in.
