    Re: new here!! 2000 firebird s3 3.8

Sounds like you need to find a reliable shop bud. I agree with getting it running properly before playing. I'm not sure how much car knowledge you have, but I suggest you do a TON of reading about the engine, transmission, suspension, etc. If you want to do some serious mods. Just be wary, I'm not sure about the rest of the condition of your car, but so fat it sounds like it's been beat pretty bad considering how much it was sold for and the problems you have already fixed. Do all the necessary changes and repairs first, and go from there. Modding gets VERY expensive if your looking for power, especially with a v6. As rewarding as it is, logically it isn't worth the time and money for what you get out of it. I love my v6, and get compliments daily, but it always leaves me wanting more. With over 100k, I just can't justify putting any serious money into it and possibly compromise the engine. Again, this is my own opinion and I know people will disagree, to his or her own. For the amount of money it would take you to reach the raw power of a stock LS1, you could own a ws6 or ss with under 100k. Again, love my six, but crave v8 power at times.

Okay, the edelbrock sticker can go but if it actually has LG G2 coilovers, that's friggin cool. It's older 4th gen suspension tech, but LG does have a good track record in most parts.

      Keep it maintained.

Putting in a Series III (which were only on FWD) is major work - I highly doubt it's a Series III. It is not "an engine swap".

Guys have done it on this Board - do a search and see the work involved.

as of the o2 sensor which are the best pick of all of them.
and how would i know its runing tip top shape?
as of now if i drive alot when i turn on my car its takes about a minute or to to run smoth it stars of like slowly runing n goes to norman.
stick to the OEM ones, should be AC delco. avoid bosch like the plague.

just make sure everything is running smooth and no leaks, full tune up, trans flush etc.

current car- 95 Trans am- bolt ons, parked and collecting dust. why? because **** it

Remove the glue with isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) from a drug store.

              Re: new here!! 2000 firebird s3 3.8

ok to every one on an up date today i fixed that exhaust leak it was 2$ fix no lie just the bolts and the nuts but took some time cause it started to rain and i was outside

also it is a series 2 that was my fault sorry about that

n lastly before i had fixed the exhaust leak i did a favor for my friend and took him to get some hid for his truck it was a 20 mile drive to get there and i was going about 60-80 mph most of the time. but on the way back we stopped to get some food and at the drive thru i was holding my brakes and out of know where my car starts to jump and jump forward and the car was shaking left to right as if the engine could not give anymore so i just turned it off and pulled it to the side let it cool down
then i turned it on but it sounded ok for a while
so i stopped at the gas station and opened the radiator it gushed out all of the watter and threw out stream (yes i know it was stupid off me ) but i refilled it and sounded like it was going out as in a low low rpm then got normal once
i got home (by luck) thats when i worked on the leak any ideas why it did that??

Could be an array of things, sensors, egr, vacuum leak, misfire.

Probably misfire. It's always a good idea to do the general maintenance on a car when you buy it used off somebody else.

Did the engine "surge"? Did the RPM on the tach go up?

Hmm that sounds like what happened to my Volvo, it ended up being a bad throttle body. But more likely a misfire, check plugs and wires
