Ventvisors for my Camaro - Installed!

I'll post this here since this is a functioning mod, not an appearance mod. ;)

I finally got around to installing the ventvisors on my Camaro! I haven't had the car in the rain with them on yet but it looks as if I'll be able to have my windows cracked open about an inch without having Niagara Falls coming down on my window/door switches! :D

They look better than I thought they would and they don't stick out like a sore thumb. Opening and Closing the door is no different than before. They wouldn't be noticable at all on a black (roofed) car! ;)

The GM Ventvisor Part# is 12495508 and run from $32-55 (depends on dealer).

They don't work as well as you might think. I still can't have my windows down at all if it's raining. The water tends to come from down low off the winshield.

Thanks! I think the dark (10%) tint helps! ;)

I don't get it...Why do you want the things in the first place? How about just keeping the windows up in the rain? Then again, I'm definitely not the brightest guy around...

Don't smoke, but I do enjoy the fresh rain air! ;) Plus, I can put my proximity card (gate access card) on a extendable pointer and not get the inside of my car soaked when I need to pull into my apt complex! :D

I don't see how your door can come open. Your windows go right up to the lip of the molding to the roof. Does it hit at all?

Nope.... doesn't hit! ;) There's about a quarter inch space between the window and the visor as the door opens so there's really no chance of the window hitting them.... unless they were installed improperly! :D

These are from the GM Camaro Accessory catalog so they're designed especially for Camaros. (possibly Firebirds?!)

The only reason I have 'em is because they came with the car. It is nice to be able to leave the windows down a bit when you park the car, though. If it rains, you don't have to worry about your seat getting soaked.

Well I dunno about you, but I wouldn't be doin 100+ when it's raining! I've already spun out and hydroplaned twice when I was driving slow in the rain,... of course I had worn down tires, and I have new top of theline Yokohama's now, but I still don't drive fast in the rain.

I have a black Bird with black tint, and the ventvisors helped. I bought them when I smoked and quit right after I got em. The ***** about them is that the way the window is cut in the back, it leaks in when the window is cracked. Take a look at it, it is a decent sized space left open. They help add something to the cars without T-tops.
