    difference between a 97 camaro 3800 and the 2000-02 camaro 3800?

    I'm interested in Hypertech's Maxenergy programmer but its only available for 2000 and up camaros with the 3800V6 and mine is a 97 camaro with the 3800. I would like to know the difference between the two engines and if I can make mine the same so I can tune it with the power programmer.

    Might as well get hptuners for your car, it won't pay off trying to get yours 00' and up. You'll have to sell yours and get a 00' and up most likely.

        The intakes ,TB, wiring and pcm. too much to do for a programmer. Might as well get the real deal and go Hptuners.

            The intakes on the 98' and above are straight while the 97' is slanted , the throttle bodies are DBW while 97' is cable.

              95-98 angled - cable

                Thanks I get confused on the 98' cars.

                  Either way, a very limited programmer is 300-350, while HPT is 500-650 and basically limitless.

                    HPTuners is compatible with 97& up so I'd go that route.
                    96 White M5 Camaro. Manual everything. Magnaflow cat, dynomax dual outlet axle back. Swapped to a disc rear with 3.42s and a torsen differential, kyb gr2 rear shocks, moog rear endlinks.

                      96's work with a 97' PCM also.
